Description

The Iraqi Institution for Development (IID) is organizing a two-day workshop in Ninewa on the topic of “The Importance of Reintegration of Returnees from Al-Amal Camp.”
This workshop brings together representatives from government bodies, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, and civil society to discuss practical ways to enhance coordination and reintegration efforts for returnees.

IID is seeking a qualified Trainer/Facilitator to lead the sessions, guide discussions, and ensure that the workshop outputs align with the advocacy goals and the priorities of stakeholders.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Raise awareness of the importance of reintegration of returnees from displacement camps.
  • Clarify roles and responsibilities between government entities and humanitarian actors.
  • Highlight existing gaps and challenges in reintegration efforts.
  • Promote collaboration and complementarity between governmental and non-governmental initiatives.
  • Produce actionable recommendations for improved reintegration practices.

Scope of Work / Key Responsibilities:

The selected Trainer will:

  1. Pre-Workshop Preparation:
  • Coordinate with IID to understand the context, agenda, and expected outcomes.
  • Develop a facilitation plan tailored to the target participants (government, NGOs, CSOs, academics).
  • Prepare interactive tools and guiding questions to promote discussion and knowledge sharing.
  • During the Workshop (August 2025):
    • Facilitate all workshop sessions in an engaging and participatory manner.
    • Guide participants through discussions on the key topics:
      • Importance of reintegration.
      • Roles of actors involved in return and reintegration.
      • Challenges and barriers to reintegration.
      • Strategies for coordination and sustainable reintegration.
    • Ensure inclusive participation and time management.
    • Document key insights, discussions, and group recommendations.
  • Post-Workshop:
    • Submit a final report summarizing:
      • Workshop activities.
      • Key outcomes and discussion points.
      • Recommendations and follow-up actions.
      • Participant feedback (if applicable).

    Qualifications & Preferred Skills

    Required Qualifications:

    • Proven experience facilitating workshops with diverse stakeholders, including government and civil society.
    • Background in social cohesion, displacement, returnee issues, or community reintegration.
    • Strong understanding of the Iraqi context, particularly displacement and return dynamics.
    • Excellent communication and facilitation skills in Arabic; English is an asset.
    • Strong writing and reporting skills.

     Expected Deliverables:

    • Workshop facilitation plan and agenda
    • Presentation materials and discussion tools
    • Final narrative report including key findings and recommendations
